Painted Desolation

Another one from Mono Lake. After making images at the lake I had just stepped into my car and headed out of the park when I came across this scene. The powerful contrast between the desolate foreground and the dramatic background made me stop. The burst of color only lasted for a brief moment and I was lucky enough to be there to capture it.
