Reaching out

I glimpsed this set of trees when I drove down the coast one late afternoon. It was a decidedly gray kind of afternoon. I had my Fuji XT-5 with me, and, as the wind was unusually calm, I decided to give its pixel-shift-capture function another try, and it turned out to work pretty well in increasing the resolution. So far, I’ve been very happy with the Fuji. After making images with film for a couple of years, I can say that I like the much slower pace of making images on film, especially with large-format cameras. I was therefore hesitant to try my hand at making images with a digital camera again, but I have gotten into the habit of slowing down now to a degree that isn’t too heavily impacted by the temptation of the digital camera to hastily shoot everything I could point my camera at.
